A business grows in two ways: uniqueness and complexity. As a company becomes more complex and unique in its brand, financial management, and overall operations, clients often find it challenging to continue running their accounting on solutions like QuickBooks. While QuickBooks is a valued accounting solution, like any other option, it isn’t for everyone.
Join Accounting Seed founder and CEO Tony Zorc and Jeff Borschowa, Chairman of Excolo33 and QuickBooks expert, in a friendly debate on QuickBooks versus Accounting Seed. Discover the top 5 signs it’s time to move your client (or your business) off of QuickBooks.
Jeff Borschowa is a business coach, author, educator, and curator of all things related to business efficiency and technology. Jeff first joined the accounting world in 1991 and has spent the bulk of his career working with and advising small to medium-sized enterprises. Jeff has experience working with all sizes of businesses, from sole proprietorships to international organizations. The focus in Jeff’s career has been to find new and better ways to integrate innovation and technology to enhance the customer experience and improve efficiency in businesses.
Jeff’s journey has been unique in that he has met some very innovative mentors in his career. Jeff has been very fortunate to be in a position to learn from them, compare their ideas, and truly choose the best of the best. Jeff would like nothing more than to free business owners from the stress created by high-volume commodity work, allowing them the freedom to pursue work that is rewarding personally and professionally.
Jeff’s overall goal is to reduce the hours worked by business owners and increase overall profitability. In Jeff’s experience, almost every business owner can tell you how much their gross revenue is, but very few know their actual costs. Jeff challenges you to learn more about your business so that you can bid on the right kinds of projects and earn what you are worth – your education should be your most valued possession.
Leveraging his combined experience in public accounting, finance, and IT, Tony Zorc started Accounting Seed in 2008 to create an innovative, open architecture accounting application on the Salesforce platform.
Tony designed this technology to embrace the CRM mindset of not forcing users to perform business processes the way a software maker designed, instead providing a toolset empowering the users to determine how to best organize and manage the back office. This defining quality of the Accounting Seed product has led to the company’s continuous vertical growth over the next ten years.
Under Tony’s leadership, Accounting Seed has sold over 15,000 licenses to customers worldwide and throughout many industries. Tony’s unique approach to accounting has earned Accounting Seed places among CFO Tech Outlook’s Top 10 Accounting Solutions Providers – 2018, #1 Accounting Solution by SoftwareReviews - 2019, and a top-rated business by Inc. 5000 – 2020. Tony has also been featured as a guest on Worldwide Business with Kathy Ireland®, where Accounting Seed was recognized as a revolutionary and successful business tool.
Before starting Accounting Seed, Tony worked as a CPA at BDO, performing a broad range of financial services such as auditing and tax preparation for customers. At Herman Miller, Tony worked as the International Finance Manager, where he directed internal audits and managed the finances for international subsidiaries. He then went on to serve as a Controller and CFO for Accelera Romaro. Later, Tony transitioned into software consulting to pursue his growing interest in IT. Working as a Solutions Architect for SSI Consulting, he sold and implemented Microsoft mid-market systems, serving dual roles as a Presales Engineer and Technical Sales Consultant.
