Course Description

The addition of Section 199A is perhaps the most significant change and opportunity in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It is also unfortunately very complicated from a compliance and planning standpoint. This session will provide a quick refresher of the basics and teach the attendees advantaged strategies using examples.

Specifically, the program will cover:

  • Managing the limitations in order to maximize the deduction

  • The interaction between 199A and retirement plan funding

  • The value of reducing income to avoid the limitations and ideas to do so

  • The 199A impact on real estate including managing multiple activities, the cost of servicing debt, and cost segregation
